  • Renato Carvalho

    Mr. Carvalho is Laplace’s founder, and currently Chairman of the Board of Grupo Casas Bahia.

    Before Laplace, he was a founding partner of Angra Partners and worked at Accenture, Lehman Brothers in New York, and in the Corporate Finance Division of Monitor Clipper Partners in Boston; he has also participated as a member of the Board of Directors of companies such as Telemig Celular, Terra Santa Propriedades Agrícolas, Progen, Metrô do Rio de Janeiro and TMA.

    He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechatronics engineering from the University of São Paulo’s Polytechnic School and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Mr. Carvalho is also a former Corporate Finance Professor at the Insper Instituição de Ensino e Pesquisa in São Paulo.

  • Marina Arantes

    Ms. Arantes leads the transaction analysis of Laplace’s asset management.

    Previously, she had experiences in Laplace’s financial advisory division for over 3 years, as well as other roles at Pátria Investimentos, McKinsey & Company, and Cervejaria Ambev.

    She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of São Paulo’s Polytechnic School.

  • Stephan Mancini, CFA®

    Mr. Mancini leads the portfolio monitoring of Laplace’s asset management.

    Prior to joining Laplace, he worked in Laplace’s financial advisory division for over 5 years, at Crédit Agricole, as a Corporate Banking Executive and as an Investment Banking Executive; he also worked in Corporate Advisory at UBS and as Senior Advisor at American M&A boutique Fredericks Michael & Co., in which he was responsible for originating and executing transactions in Brazil.

    He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from HEC Paris and is a CFA® Charterholder.

  • Giuliano Giusti

    Prior to joining Laplace, has been a partner in the wealth management, family office and, later, started the distribution of the asset funds in Cvpar Investimentos.

    Has been investment advisor for single family offices including the real estate business structuring and consulting for tech companies in early stage.

    Ran the corporate treasury at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch in Brazil from 2005 to 2017. Member of the risk, capital and new products comitees.

    He holds a master’s degree in Strategy and Finance from London Business School.

  • Paulo Capato, CFA®

    Mr. Capato is part of the transaction analysis team of Laplace’s Asset Management.

    Previously, he worked at Credit Suisse for over 3 years as well as other roles in Red Ventures and Sanofi. 

    Holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of São Paulo’s Polytechnic School and in process engineering from the École Nationale Superieure en Génie des Technologies Industrielles. He is a CFA® Charterholder.
